I feel really bad about this, but I don't know of anything else I could have done, short of stopping - and that would have caused even more problems. I went to get onto the interstate at a spot that has a rather short entrance ramp, and got on behind this young woman in a little minivan. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear it was somebody learning to drive (just from looking at the driver - seemed quite young). Anyway, she proceeds down the entrance ramp at about 30, maybe 35 tops. Followed it all the way to where it merges into traffic doing the same speed. She wouldn't go any faster, so I couldn't, and there were cars in the lane next to me so I couldnn't get over. Only thing I could think of to do - and I hate to do this, and hate it when other people do, too - was tap the horn to warn everybody that I was there. This, of course, freaked Ms. minivan, and she goes veering off onto the shoulder (and stopped. she was shook up, but looked OK), which was not my intention at all.
Fortunately everything came out OK, though it scared the hell out of me, and I can't imagine how *she* felt. Sorry 'bout that.
