You must have not worked with laptops much or ever used laptops at an enterprise level.

No and no. My work is actual work, but my material is made by the same 3rd world labor because, "cheaper is better".

I do have a 3 year old laptop which I have never called tech support on, though.
 
I may be getting a y50 soon. From what I saw at best buy I like the sleek design and hardware for the price. I was going to get a dell m3800 but didn't want to pay $1500 + an ssd and another 8gb of ram.

I'll be running Linux mostly on the y50 and if I do dual boot the first thing I'll do is backup the lenovo partitions to a 32gb flash drive then format the drive, reinstall windows, and then Linux.

No bloat after that.
