compared to a pair of focals of course they're sh1t

but when it comes to cheaper speakers they're by far the best i've found

and i was simply stating that they sound a hell of a lot better than the pioneer speakers i've heard, if you'll notice, i said earlier in the thread that they wouldn't compare to something like infinity

Well, I'm not all hung up on Focals personally, but I see where your coming from.

Hey, if your happy with it thats all that counts.

for what i pay for a set, i'm quite content :)

what the hell does a 6-way mean??

it means 6 drivers in the same speaker

such as a large midwoofer, 2 small ones, and 3 tweeters in the same speaker

why do you need 3 tweeters?
One good one is more that enough.
Sounds like the marketing department has taken over at Acme speaker co.

Umm, since when is soundstorm considered a step up from lightning audio??

have you ever even listened to either one?

those soundstorm 6X9's rock...i pushed 250w rms to them for 2 years before they finally bit it....got ridiculously ****** loud and sounded very good

i challenge you to find another set of speakers for that price that will sound even close to as good as the soundstorms do

I've listened to plenty of Soundstorm, Audiobahn, Infinity, polk, pioneer etc 6x9"s. You're much better off buying a set of components and putting them up front, there is always room somewhere. The fact is no 6x9" sounds very good. CDT, Focal some others come close but are pretty spendy and still can't compare to seperates. A cheap set of crystal audio comps can be had for around $100.00 the difference will be night and day. DIY builds like Vifa, morel the list goes on, can be had for cheap to.

This isn't meant to be a Flame in anyway. I used to think about the same as you many years ago untill I heard My first set of quality speakers at a local high end installer. BTW those specs on the soundstorm 6x9"s are totally bogus. No 6x9" will take 250 watts rms of power. let alone go down to 40hz. What amp did you use that supposedly gave them 250 watts ?
