So, the wife asked for it and I got it today, the Disney+ streaming service. I figured I could go watch the MARVEL movies in their chronological order but just discovered several titles are missing, like Avengers: Infinity Wars, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Ant Man and Wasp.

All of these missing titles come up in the search function of the app I am using on the Amazon Fire TV stick device, but each title I've mentions says they are not available until such and such a future date (one was December 5th, while another was late July 2020!).

How can they advertise a MARVEL channel and have a Swiss cheese offering of such a canary offering? What bothers me is why would someone want to watch Endgame )available) without seeing Infinity Wars (not available)? Are they not two parts of a must see?

I guess the only positive thing one could garner from this is the low price. I'm not sure if I can justify keeping the service (7-day free trial) considering these glaring MIA titles. Hell, I haven't even gone through the other channels to see what is missing there are the MARVEL channel was the one I was looking forward to.

I remember something about Netflix having some deal to stream some Marvel titles for a while. I'm sure once that is up they will add them to the library.

Only one of the titles claimed Netflix agreement, the others did not. And all of the titles I mentioned were available for rent/purchase through Amazon Prime. Also, I noticed none of the X-Men movies were available and would not come up in the searches. Isn't X-Men part of the MCU?

you should probably just cancel your subscription and go back to reading books.

What do you mean "claimed Netflix agreement"? As I think all of the ones you mentioned are on Netflix and I've read an article elsewhere (maybe Ars, not sure) that mentioned that they might not be on Disney+ until after their license deal with Netflix was up and it seemed in line with what you mentioned (I think Thor Ragnarok is in December, and I saw the others were staggered into next year).

When something comes up in a search result you expect to be part of the service, Disney+ has a response as to why. One of the titles claimed Netflix, the others didn't specifically identify the other agents in licensing agreements.

Hmm as far I i remember Avengers: Infinity Wars, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Ant Man and Wasp were on disney+
Maybe they removed them, or they were only available in the Netherlands?

(The Netherlands was the Pilot country for Disney+ i've had it almost 2 months now)

Didn't they just finish the deal to get XMen over to Disney? Maybe the deal's not done yet.

That's a distinct possibility. I guess I could VPN into a NL VPN exit point but I already had trouble with the web browser and Ublock during the signup process. It wouldn't surprise me if they rpevented my account from using it if exiting outside of the USA.

Apparently there is also an issue with OAR, Original Aspect Ratio, not being honored in favor of formatting everything to 16:9. People noticed this with the Simpsons. Those that noticed also, correctly, asked why this was considering the Simpsons run on FXX, which is now owned by Disney, had the same OAR issue and corrected it--but not for Disney+.

I noticed the iOS App Store write-up for Disney+ specifically emphasizes that it has everything "Disney."

I noticed some of the star wars shows are missing episodes as well. A bunch of MCU movies seem to be missing as well. Mandalorian is great, but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the completness of the back catalog. I expected this to be the go-to source for everything Pretty much as soon as it was out of a theatre.

I chuckled when I told my wife I could drink one less cocktail while dining out per month to pay for Netflix. Adding this to the missing content on Disney+ forwarded the only solution I could think of and I signed up for Netflix. Now the wife and I are happy and it seems like we'll never have enough time to watch all the content available between those two services and prime. But who'd of thought the missing content on Disney+ would benefit Netflix in adding subscriber growth?
