I know most of you rebuild your computers every month or so... 😉

But for the REST of us, your heatsink may have a big build of up dust. Mine did, and it was starting to cause random crashes with the heat of summer in Los Angeles.

So... if you might be in the same boat, check it out -- it will save you time and pain later!

meh, the fan isn't currently on anyway so I doubt there's much dust. BTW a clawhammer 3400 + no running fan = bad idea -> which is why I've been doing it for the past several months.

um i clean out my hsf about once a month and system and psu fans about every 2 months but today came home with 95f case temp (w/e it is in c) and 65C cpu lemme tell u what!! i had to downclock it its hawt!

Yeah I crashed out of a game a few days back. Though it's not the CPU that's having trouble, it's me damn hot headed 6800GT.

Dust filters ftw. I haven't opened my case in several months.

I just opened it. Looks like it did when I first built it + a little dust 😉

Some people have air conditioning.

AC costs money, and it's not needed in LA (for people) except during the hottest days.

I live in No Cal, in the valley, where it gets hot during the summer months...day after day, after day....and I clean my case out monthly. Surrounded by farmland, we fight dust constantly here...My case sits on the floor. I tried filters once, and they plugged to quickly (about 6 weeks) and added to the heat problem by slowing the airflow down.

Just did it this evening. Noticed the machine acting a little weird lately and then realized it has been a while since a trip to the garage and a nice blow job from the compressor.

mmm blowjob

i have a front 120mm filter and the 120 mm fan seems to get less dust than the 92 mm on the side it has a speaker grill type steel mesh on the side and i have to clean it with a toothbrush everyday seems like
