Ya. His letter is overdramatic and a bit douchey. Not a big fan of people who use terms like "immediate action must be taken..." when referring to minor issues letting patrons know there's bacon in a dish.

Chipotle is one of the chains I've always held in high regard. Tasty food made with quality products and an ostensible commitment to a level of integrity which normally doesn't exist in that industry. This exchange helps support that opinion.

The so called integrity is a sham. They use farms with the worst labor practicies to get their supplies. They are worst than McDonalds when it comes to support of human slavery. McDonalds has more integrity with their food supply then Chipotle.

I really don't care if the guy that picks the tomatoes, slices the beef, rolls it into a burrito or cleans the table gets paid a living wage. It doesn't matter to me. At all.

That could be you in the fields with 100+ degree weather picking tomatoes making $4 an hour.

Weird. I've been to multiple locations and every one always notified that the pinto beans were cooked with bacon if you wanted the pinto beans. I assume that it's just part of their training manual. They also have the allergy card that lists this info right at the start of the line too.

Perhaps that guy didn't see the info but it should be pretty standard overall. Maybe that particular one was lazy with the disclosures.

well, i mean, if some people are very religious and eating pork or something that's touched pork is an issue, then don't you think the company that cooked their beans in pork without notifying the public first would be at fault? i mean, seriously, they're pinto beans... who would ask if their beans were cooked in pork when you think you're just getting regular pinto beans? they even ask you when you're making your order "pinto beans?"... they don't say "pork-cooked pinto beans?"

anyways, just a thought.

My son has some serious food allergies. I don't expect restaurants to list all of the ingredients, I simply ask if his order contains any of those items.

We all need to take personal responsibility.

After reading the responses in this thread it surprises me whenever Pfizer and Merek stock goes down.. that stock should be at $4000 a share with the guaranteed future customers they have ;)

Chipotle is expensive enough as it is, hippie.

besides, those tomato pickers are still making more money as illegals over here than they are back home.

it's called "competitive pricing."

I fail to see your point. It was the pinto beans that were cooked in pork, ergo the better bean. It is you that has no taste, good sir!

pinto beans need pork (the greatest thing on earth) to be palatable.

black beans do not need this. therefore, black beans are the superior bean.

and the last thing I want on top of my carnitas is more pork.

What happened to personal responsibility? They handle pork in the restaurant and Latin cooking often uses bacon/lard in the beans and tortillas. If he's been ignorantly eating pork for a decade without having asked, looked at the little allergy card at the start of the line, or you know, pulled up the nutrition info online, it's his own fault.

This moron has time to tweet his outrage, but apparently could not have visited this site:

http://www.chipotle.com/en-US/menu/special_diet_information/special_diet_information.aspx

and looked under "Vegan Options" or where the same thing about bacon in the pintos is repeated in "Vegetarian Options"

His own fault, not Chipotle's. It pisses me off that every moron with a dietary restriction needs food service to cater to them without any initiative on their own part. It's not like these places want to secretly feed you things you don't eat for whatever reason. If you ask, or look at their web site, they will tell you.
