PSA: AMD games with Gold coupon expire!

Got a coupon code back in May, didn't like the games so i decided to wait. Well today i went to redeem it and it says expire. I check the email that newegg send me and there's no mention of an expiration, or must use by date at all.

I have contacted Newegg and they asked to send them screenshots of the message from amd stating that it is expire and also the email they sent me with the digital code.

Anyone else run into this before?

Yeah if you look around at the sites they have offer expiration and I am sure that the codes themselves have them as well. You still could have redeemed the code earlier but just held back on selecting the rewards.

Looking into it. Each code type has a redemption limitation. You probably have a Never Settle forever code. Newegg probably had disclaimers telling you to go to AMD's website (since its really them and not Newegg running the promotion) for rules and limitations. AMD Posted a Presser. Apparently you had a window to Redeem the code between September 2nd and September 8th to have it upgraded for Never Settle space (which included A:I and SC). After that the Never Settle Forever offers expired. If you got a hard copy code it probably stated its expiration on it and if not it was probably on AMD's website.

Actually just double checked again. AMD did have a limitations PDF linked on their site. It was updated. Originally your code expired on on August 23rd. They extended it up to the 2nd of September for redeeming for Never Settle Forever. From the 2nd till the 8th any NSF code used was upgraded to Never Settle Space. On the 8th it expired. It's all listed in this PDF.

The rules also listed exhaustion of codes. So even if it didn't expire you took a big chance on not being able to get a code anyways. On top of that. The code was only ever good for the games in the promotion. So even if AMD allowed you to enter in the code. Not counting this single opportunity for an upgrade. You were only ever really offered the games that you already said you weren't interested in.

So samething happened to me. I purchased a Radeon R9 270x Card on newegg on feb 1st 2015, I received my shipment on Feb 3rd 2015. I was impressed with how fast I received the shipment. That same day I tried to redeem the AMD Gold Rewards card. Gave me an error that the card was expired. I read the fine print and it said expired Jan 31st 2015.

I contact NewEgg as they currently still had the promo on their site. I explained the situation, they said to me that the promo was from Nov 11th till Feb 28th 2015. The said they would mail me another AMD GOLD Rewards card. I received this card on Feb 12th. Read the date on that card and same deal, Expired Jan 31st 2015. I contacted New Egg again as I was ensured by 1 of the agents that this would be corrected. (Take note that they still had the promotion listed on their site), I explained the situation to the new agent. This agent escalated it up the chain of commands. I was told I would be contacted in a few days. This did not happen, I found out i had to wait 3-7 business days. I waited 10 business days, still no reply. I contacted them again. I was then told that they had nothing to do with the cards being mailed out. To contact AMD.

So here I am, miffed with newegg for false advertising. I contacted AMD regarding the situation, waiting to hear back from them. I will post what happens.

well... they do expire

if you didnt want the games you should have: sold the coupon on ebay or something like that before they expire or redeem the coupon and keep the keys which i assume dont expire and do with the keys whatever you want
