When you are debating someone over any topic. The person making the positive assertion is responsible for providing proof. The burden of evidence is on him/her and if they don't furnish it then they dont have a case.

I think the only lesson you are qualified to teach is how not to be funny.

 

I remember this stuff from debate class in university. They also touched upon the same material in public and mass speaking.
