If you HAD to buy one now Need for Speed Rivals but I'd decline to recommend anything.

Best this year I'd look at Project Cars.
 
Ya, after posting I saw that Project Cars is a month away. I'm an ex-Forza fan from the 360 days.

I wish Nintendo would get their heads out of their ass and make another Wave Race. One of the best racing games ever.
 
If project cars plays as good as it looks it'll be a winner. That's my only concern, that the game will handle poorly.
 
i would 100% NOT recommend need for speed rivals. the game is HORRIBLE. i wish i never bought that piece of shit and i only paid $20 for it.

i'd get driveclub for ps4 if i had to pick a racing game right now. not a fan of what project cars looks to be since it's a sim, just not into sims.
 
Drive club looks amazing, and I wish I had bought it on sale. Still waiting on the PS+ version though. Apart from that just have to hope project cars ends up being good.
 
I have not tried drive club after the crappy launch. For my racing needs I play for a horizon 2. I'll be looking into project cars when that comes out. I have to see what its all about first. I don't think we will get the free version of drive club now that they haven't released it, seems to have sold anyway.
 
Any of these games feature traffic or cops that you heave to weave in and out of? Project Cars looks just like Gran Turismo formula style racing, closed tracks with only other racers.

NFS Rivals has an open world with multiplayer options for people to play as cops, in addition to the normal cop stuff they've put in games in the past (at least, I assume A.I. cops exist). The Crew has traffic and such, but it's generally a terrible racing game.

Yeah but what I mean is you don't have to play it like a hardcore sim. It's still a super good racing game.

I don't know what to expect from Project Cars. I played an early alpha and it had only a few cars that felt right. With so many cars and so much of the focus on the graphics, can it feel realistic enough for the sim fans and be easy enough to pickup and play (like Forza) to keep the casual race fans interested? I'd like to know because the PS4 needs a good racing game even if it's multiplatform.

There have been other always online games that have been fine. Not racing games though that I know of.
 
Grabbed need for speed rivals. A d the zoom is zoomed in for some reason. It didn't start that way but it's like this now. It just as though everything zoomed in 10%. And now the overlays are clipped. So WtF.
 
My problem with NFS was that the cops always managed to catch up and get in the way near the end of a race, mission or whatever they called it in the game.
 
lol why the hell did you buy NFS? that is the worst racing game by far out right now for either console, and 2 of us told you how bad it is already. like i'm seriously wondering what your decision process was to pick that horrible game after asking for some feedback in this thread. i know you don't have to listen to us about anything but i'm genuinely curious why you ended up with that game.

the game is just so bad.
 
Project CARS in a few weeks, no real title worth mentioning other than that- Driveclub is meh and NFS Rivals is horrible. And just don't even think about The Crew.
