I hate shopping closer to Christmas its a damn pain and I haven't seen a single system for sale anywhere yet.

On Black Friday at my local GameStop I walked in and a PS4 was being sold, not sure how many they had. Or if it was the last one.

I inquired about Xbone and was told the last one they sold was at midnight and the regional manager came in and took half of their xbone stock to redistribute since it wasn't selling worth a darn.

it took me a 2-3 calls before i could find a store that just got the shipment in stock. So luckily for me, I called right on time and the shipments they received had ps4. Once i got there, they had 5, held one for me and others were being rsvp over phone as i was checking out 45mins later. I asked if i could buy 2 but the guy only allowed one. smart move.

This is target btw.

Im selling my ps3 in about 10 minutes with ghosts and 2k14 for $200 so I need to find a ps4 soon. Probably won't happen today but whatever, something has to give eventually

Seems a bit silly to blame Sony for our (I need a second one) predicament :\

FWIW, a friend of a friend who works at Best Buy said they're getting a load in around Monday. Not sure if that's everywhere.

Best Buy and supposedly Target are both going to have some available on Sunday. I read Best Buy will be handing out tickets before they open again for them.

I figured they would be available by now, hell i can get a Xbox one from a couple places right now

Well, not to start a console war, but I've been getting the impression that the PS4 is in higher demand. I had a very difficult time getting a PS4 the day after release and I encountered a lot of competition. For the Xbone, it was MUCH easier. Several buddies were also able to go out 3 - 4 days later and pick one up at their first stop.

This could be explained by MS releasing the Xbone in greater numbers, but a number of factors (sales and participation figures of cross-platform games being a significant one) leads me to believe that may not be the case. Could me wrong, though.

A lot of it has to be the price difference. $100 is a lot of money to parents who are walking in the store and buying a console. I think the Xbone is the better value but you have to put up a lot more money to get one. For example if the xbone was 400 dollars my nephew would be getting one for Christmas. The 500 price tag is too much to justify when a new 360 with games are going for 189. At 400 they were willing to buy a future proof xbox. Xbox is the only option sadly since that is what all his friends have.

Yeah the PS4 is simply in demand more right now. It's what people want. The momentum can definitely change in MS' favor but right now the PS4 is a more desirable purchase. Put 100 of each on a typical store shelf the PS4 is going to disappear first.

Yep. Could be price, could be power advantage, could be blowback from the PR fiasco months ago, could be the disc drive / kinnect issues, who knows... but the demand does seem to be in the PS4's favor.

I should really walk into the Microsoft store around here and see if the boxes and boxes of the One are real or just displays. They tout availability in their store front windows so..

i walked into th emicrosoft store here and yes, they had them in stock. they wouldn't say how many.

granted, the one i got from them had the disc drive issue so I returned it, my amazon one didn't.

I was told by a mom and pops store they would have ps4's in today and would hold one for me so I offed my ps3 and games for $200 went in there with $575 in cash and they didn't have anything. Supposedly the shipment didn't come in. Not a happy camper right now I want to play resogun. They had 2 Xbox ones and asked if I wanted one and I declined the offer. Not interested in anything Microsoft has game wise

It has to be the price difference that's making the demand so high for the ps4 I called every store within 20 miles and no one has anything nor do they know when they will

It isn't hurting. It's undeniable the PS4 has superior performance, but it lacks the Kinect. If the Kinect turns out to be as cool as MS wants it to be, then for me it would be a wash; basically the same thing. Except the PS4 is still cheaper by a hundred bucks.

cheaper and more powerful indeeeed 😀

I love coming home from a day of work and relax with a game on my ps4

lol my buddy got a ps4 last week and i emailed him today asking him what games he has for it, trying to sell him my killzone and this is what he said.

Assassains Creed and COD but I think I'm going to return COD. Honestly, I might return all of it (except for AC since its opened) because I feel like there are no good games right now and I paid $550 for AC black flag bundle

after owning it for a few weeks now and completing knack and not wanting to finish killzone, i somewhat agree with him. bman if you are in MD let me know, i know where you can find a ps4 at price!

Except people are tired of gimmicks. Wii motion controls are a dead horse and original Kinect sucked. I predict Kinect 360 sales was a fluke like the Wii. It was just the next fashionable look at me and my cool toy to have for the casual couch potato to proudly display in their living room, just like the Wii before it. Once that wears off and those people jump to the next iPad or whatever iTrendy device, its over.

Anyone I know with a Kinect only used it to demo Fruit Ninja to people who never saw Kinect before, after that it just sat under a foot of dust.

The problem with the casual target market everyone panders to so much is that they aren't dedicated and loyal, they will jump ship to whatever the next flavor of the month "in" thing is without a second thought.

I researched the launch line-up for both consoles and knew they were both underwhelming, but I knew I'd play the hell out of BF4. Forza had the same effect on me that KZ apparently had on you. Just part of being an early adopter and shouldn't be a surprise.

Luckily I was right about BF4 🙂

The Kinect does nothing for me (except fry eggs), but I went into it knowing that. In the interest of full disclosure, I will probably be dumping my Xbone soon. There's nothing wrong with the system, it's just not for me. I care about graphical quality and I don't care about the Kinect, and I prefer the PS4's dashboard (it's more responsive, for starters). This coupled with the fact that most of my friends are forming a similar preference, it's the natural choice for me.

For those buying into the "full living room control," I can see the Xbone being the natural choice (or if you're a huge Forza or Halo fan). I'm officially over Forza and I've never cared for Halo to begin with, so all I'll miss out on is Titanfall (F you, EA), but I can just play that on PC. Sequels are likely to come out on PS4 anyway.

The launch line up does suck but at least there are good games to play. Sure its not a lot but better then nothing

I only got the ps3 as I never had a 2 nor did I have a BR player yet, so got a 3 in 1 for about a hundred less than its release price with the sony offer. Have a feeling its gonna be awhile before I get a 4 though.
