Already got mine preordered along with GT5 International. I cannot WAIT to play in a 32 car race with the 2006 Nissan Erazer sports coupe. Whoo hoo!!

I thought the PS3 was being released around 2005 and that it was just like a souped up PS2 or something being released between now and then.

Hey guys, watch out. That December 18th is the shipping date, not the release date. The offical release is the 19th. Lots of people have been confusing EB's shipping date with the release date.

Seriously, from the little blurbs that are coming out from Sony, it sounds like it will be out sometime in 2005. No, it won't be a souped up whatever, each generation of consoles is always a big step up in technology from the one before.

NEO, you're the dumb one: he's right. The PS3 is due 2005 or 2006 and in the meantime Sony is releasing the PSX at least in Japan. It's a PS2 combined with a TiVo like device and DVD recorder.

The PS3 is supposed to be released Q4 2005, however it may have slipped. If Sony isnt showing off prototypes at the various game industry trade shows in the first half of next year, its slipped to 2006, like it had been rumored to have.

MS will be showing prototype Xbox 2's at E3, behind closed doors, invitation only, there are rumors that they might be doing at GDC in March as well.

Any console that will be released in 2005, needs to be shown off as a protoype in the first half of 2004.
 
December 18? I wish. It was fun watching all those ebay auctions ending for an average of four times full retail price. Unbelievable. I wonder how many children got theirs with no box? There were many auctions for just the box (and the description CLEARLY said this!) that eroded into genuine internet cat fights. I must've spent $300 on popcorn that year.
