PS3 Yellow Light

My PS3 seemingly died last night. I have one of the BC 60GB systems, but I don't know the actual model number.

I found this thread on slickdeals about trading it in with Sony for $100.

I was wondering if anyone here has done this, because I don't have a problem with trading it, because I got a solid 5 years out of the system with no issues. The only regret I have is losing all of my data on the HDD. Is there any way to retrieve save files, etc. from the system without voiding the warranty (or does the warranty matter since it is 5 years old).

PS3s don't die. YLOD is made up by Xbox fanboys. It isn't a real issue. Only the xbox has RROD and breaks all the time.

But the PS3 is more reliable than the 360. They take two years to blow up instead of one. ^_^

LOL, I could really care less about what system people play. I used a PS2 until the 360 came out and by brothers talking me into buying one. I have met some cool peeps on XBL so I am glad that I made that choice.




Always lasted at least the one year before taking a dump.

got a friend who's going to let me have his, but i decided to call Sony earlier today and see if I can get the $99 deal too. they took my info and will be sending my the box in 3-5 days. we'll see how that works out.
