It would be worthless if it didn't improve the trophy system or prep for 3D, wouldn't it?
Or did you mean "another update that is not important to me."?

Other OS back? No? Then it is a worthless update. Give me back what I paid for Sony.

I'm still waiting for an Uncharted fix. Game locks up on me all the time.

why waste the time of giving us updates if they don't improve the core experience. Who really needed an improved trophy system. It works just fine. An update to prep for another update, come on. Sony needs to get it together. Instead of spending money on "The Tester" spend on improving the system. Such as cross game chat, .mkv, other os...

Another improtant update that is not important to me or most of the gaming community.

Hey, look, I'm here complaining about free firmware updates that enhance my system. Hear me roar.

It gets annoying when minor updates come frequently, because the system won't let you on to the PSN until you do it.

Agreed and I dislike not being able to control my own console and experience. These should be (IMHO) optional if at all possible.

I don't understand people complaining about installing linux on their ps3. I did it and it sucked.

Uncharted 1 and 2 are the only games I've had lock up on me besides the Heavy Rain Demo. The Uncharted lock ups seem pretty common (they are usually in the same spot).

Wow is it really that hard to implement cross game chat? Would be really convenient to chat with my daughter while she's on playing Ffxiii or disgaea 3

It's really only annoying when you turn your PS3 on to do something and you get greeted by the "System needs updating" junk. You could probably ignore it.... The problem is just how long it takes to update compared to the 360, which is rather fast.

Rumors are circulating that it's going to be implemented as a paid for service.

It is annoying though...and I've had this odd issue with my PS3 that after turning the system off entirely (like, via the switch on the back) or updating, the controller won't connect until I've physically connected to the USB. So whenever it wants to update not only do I have to wait 10 minutes (and considering I usually only play 30-40 minutes at a time, that's aggrevating in itself), I have to get up and connect the controller, too.

I've had the same thing happen, except it's even more of a pain because of my blu-ray remote, since I can't just plug it in via USB. I have to go to the system menu, choose to recognize a remote, then let it recognize the device, etc..
