PS3: Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Online Demo Issue

I downloaded the Uncharted 2 demo recently for PS3 and I noticed something strange.

When I start the game, it has to find a party (group of players, not necessarily on my team). Matchmaking is what I believe it's called. This takes a good 30 seconds. Once that's done, we start playing. The weird part is when it ends, it has to matchmake all over again. In COD4 (at least for the 360), you just start another game with (mostly) the same people as before.

Has anyone else noticed this? I find it to be quite annoying.

It has the option to start a match with the same people but most people seem to cancel that and go back a screen, I guess they do this to setup their perks or use the store.

I didn't see such an option. What is this option called?
