PS3 + TVersity issues

I have a bunch of mp4 videos I made for my iPod video and I am trying to get them to play on my PS3 via TVersity and they simply won't play ("Data format not supported").

I have also tried to play them directly on the PS3 by copying them there and they still won't play.

I know TVersity can transcode the movies on the fly for me but I can't figure out why it won't transcode these files appropriately.

Is the PS3 really sensitive to the type of MPEG4 files it plays?

I installed ffdshow when the TVersity installer asked me to.

I don't have any other codec packs installed other than a couple individual codecs for DV video.

I do however have Nero 7 and VLC installed.
