ps3 saved game question

I just recently bought a ps3, and I have been out of the console world for a while (my last console was an Nintendo 64). I am wondering if it is possible to transfer saved game info onto a thumb drive and bring it over to my friend's ps3 and play one of my games over at his place.

I am asking specifically for Rock Band so I can bring our band that we made over to his place to play since he does not own the game.

i know you can back up saves onto usb devices, but you may need the profile as well.

Yes. I've done it with GTA4, but like ric says, take the profile file, too.

Unfortunately, it will not work for Rock Band. I tried to copy my Rock Band saved data, something like 6200 KB, to a USB flash drive, and it would not let me
