ps3 saved game question

I just recently bought a ps3, and I have been out of the console world for a while (my last console was an Nintendo 64). I am wondering if it is possible to transfer saved game info onto a thumb drive and bring it over to my friend's ps3 and play one of my games over at his place.

I am asking specifically for Rock Band so I can bring our band that we made over to his place to play since he does not own the game.

Unfortunately, it will not work for Rock Band. I tried to copy my Rock Band saved data, something like 6200 KB, to a USB flash drive, and it would not let me
