PS3 or 360

It seems like more people have the 360, and I would rather have whatever system the most people have. More likely to get issues resolved faster.

I just can't decide if I should get a used one off of Ebay or a new 4GB model for $200. I am thinking the 4GB model.

Do NOT get a used one. It is far too risky. Get the Slim Arcade model or spend a little more and get the model with the hard drive.

I have all three consoles. My advice is to get whatever most of your friends have so that you can play online with them. If that is the Xbox, get it. If that is the PS3, get it. You may have already covered that earlier in the thread, but I haven't read all the posts yet.

I love my 360, but I will be picking up a PS3 this holiday. Never did because my wife always gave me shit about buying a second system, but since that's over I have no reason not to get one. Too bad I have so many good games I will have to pick up right away.

With the new motion controls out the one for the Xbox 360 seems to have a lot of problems, and the one for the PS3 doesn't. Also if they work the bugs out of the one for the Xbox 360 you have to have a lot of room to use it.

The controller for the PS3 has a trigger the one for the Xbox 360 doesn't. This will make FPS very hard to play on the Xbox 360. For the PS3 it should bring and new and more fun way to play them. I have even seen a rifle attachment that can been used to work with the PS3.

You can use a keyboard with the PS3 and a Mouse not, aware of one for the Xbox 360. A keyboard and mouse makes playing a MPORG much better.

I would of said to go with the Xbox 360 last year if you didn't want blue ray player but not I would lean to the PS3.

Get both you poor bastard... WAY cheaper than a PC in the long run...

Xbox is also modd-able for playing game backups..

So is PS3.. and most of it's exclusives are single player anyway..

DO not pirate games,, that's like super bad for the developers.... but the choice is yours.

the PS3 wont charge controllers over USB when the PS3 is off, that shouldn't annoy me as much as it does but i FUCKING HATE IT

interestingly i can use the 360 to charge my PS3 stuff when the 360 is off

my pc has power off USB ports that i used to charge all my stuff, PS3 BT, controller and ipod 😛

360 Pros:

-It seems (this is just an observation) that many multi-platform games are better optimized for the 360

This is a really good point and what has me leaning towards the Xbox.

GT5 looks amazing, though.

I have basically been out of the video game loop for five years now, so every game on the 360 and PS3 is just blowing my mind.

Xbox:

$100 cheaper (the new 4GB model supports high speed usb flash for storage, which is sweet)

Better multi-platform games

PS3:

Gran Turismo

Another exclusive I cannot think of the name of (the one with that kangeroo guy..)

Better quality control

I think I will grab an Xbox 4GB off Amazon and get a PS3 down the line.

Uh, you have instruments for RB3?

I have a $2000 Kawai midi piano with real action and a $2000 Roland digital drumset with mesh rebound, both compatible ;-)

All I need to do is buy that new electric guitar with the strings.

I found this interesting:

"In many ways, the core experience of playing a COD title is defined by that 60FPS target frame-rate and the advantages that brings. Neither version of the game sustains it, but the Xbox 360 game comes closest and thus it just feels like the more playable, satisfying game. Factor in the higher resolution and what feels like a bit more polish, and it's clearly the pick of the two HD console releases."

Hopefully you ordered 1 or more MIDI adapters for those.

And, holy cow, that is some seriously high-end Rock Band gear. 🙂

Lol, I didn't order either expecting to use it with Rock Band.

Those instruments are basically the best electric piano and drum-set, respectively, on the market right now.

I already have one adapter from a better company for the drumset. I do need one for piano.

I wonder if it works with midi guitar? That would be awesome..

I have to agree with others on here, if you're going the 360 route definitely buy new (the hardware has way too many potential issues). Since you want to play GT5, I guess the choice is clear, go with the PS3.

I personally play my 360 more than my PS3, but I feel that PS3 has much better exclusives (3D dot heroes, god of war, metal gear solid 4, etc., etc.).

You'll be happy with either choice, they are both great systems.

im late i know.but if you look at the numbers. Xbox is ahead, but only by like a million units. they used to be up like 20 mil at a time. So its not quite the same. Granted alot of people use the ps3 as blu-ray players though

They are both cheap, get both and then you can play any game that comes out for both of them or exclusive titles.
