Tthere is now one thread open and stickied in OT.

All other PS3 relevant threads are being locked.

The OT thread may get moved over to S/W - Games after a decision by the Mods at a later date.

No more console threads, period.
Maybe a sticky thread in Games?

maybe they should delete the wrong forum threads altogether like they do mine. they sticky one video game thread and let tons of others go free but mine happens to get locked.

Well, when you post one a day you have to expect them to notice you. Have you thought about trying other forums?

have the mods ever thought about being consistent? explain to me why the ps3 thread is stickied in OT and not the Software forum? why was the PS3 thread stickied but not the "official" wii thread? why are there 32 threads in the 1st 10 pages of OT that belong in in software or hardware forums but haven't been touched by a mod?

1) Mods is plural - it is usually very difficult to get a meeting of the minds (if they have any at the end of the day).

2) This happened with the XBox360 - when they started to get overwhelmed with threads, they clamped down. It looks like that is what is happening with the PS3.

3) The thread was started in the OT. You could start on e in the S/W to give you a warm fuzzy. right know, it looks like it is in OT that the moderation is needed. (Guess why - all the kiddies?)

4) If you see S/W threads hanging around in OT - let the Mods (plural) know. They can always an extra set of eyes.

They can't be consistent when you've got Angry Mod, Kinky Mod, Finger-on-the-nuke-button Mod... you get the picture. Mods = plural, and diverse.

thats the problem. there shouldn't be all those different types. they all should follow the same set of rules. how do they expect us to follow rules if they can't?

Why move the original when the XBOX360 thread has been sitting in OT for *a year*?

They do follow the same set of rules and apparently the rules are "if you think it needs to be moved, locked, deleted, or stickied, then move it, lock it, delete it or sticky it." Simple enough.

Somehow, I don't think the screening process for volunteer mods includes making sure that they all have the same personality traits.

We have a different set of rules to follow. Ours include:
1. post things in the correct forum or we take the chance they will get locked, deleted, or moved.
2. look before we post so that we don't post umpteen threads on the same subject or they may get locked, deleted or moved.

Common sense, not rocket science.

I know you are being helpful but you are wasting your time. Well maybe not. I guess a rational person may see this on a search.

I know I'm wasting my time, but I keep trying anyway. Maybe somewhere out there there's someone who gets it. Hope springs eternal!

personality shouldn't enter into it at all.

you're right, its not rocket science - if the thread is in the wrong forum, its in the wrong forum. there's no room for "personality" to show up anywhere, unless personality = favoritism or who you're friends with.

no, it sounds like i am. getting anyone to listen to reason or make any sense at all isn't possible on this forum

LOL
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about what constitutes reason and sense.

I completely and utterly disagree. Clumping everything into one thread is pointless. There are many different aspects of the PS3, the games, the consoles in general that can be discussed and deserve separate topics in order to maintain an actual thread of discussion about a particular aspect.

I could see the merit in locking similar topics pertaining to the PS3, but to clump every single thread together into one is like stickying a thread about cars, and locking any post that has anything remotely to do with them.

It's making a lot of posts because it's a hot topic. Thatll die down soon. Until then, let it be discussed in a reasonable manner, but a one size fits all thread is just stifling and pointless.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And we do not have the time to sift through the contents of each thread to decide if it is a duplicate.

Let the user decide if the thread should belong in S/W-Games or OT.

Within a large thread, setting the post to view at 500 and using the CTRL-F key will assist in a search.

I was just about to say that as well. I don't even care about the PS3, but let's be fair here. One gigantic 50-page thread with multiple discussions going on is nearly impossible to wade through and participate in effectively. I don't even notice an excessive number of PS3 threads. Surely like me, you mentally filter out most of the threads anyway.
