PS3 media hub

I have a vista machine, will the steps in the link allow me to stream windows media (net streaming video, its not Netflix) to my PS3. The PC is wired to a fios wireless modem, the PS3 is connected thru WiFi to the fios modem.

That should work, though personally I like the PS3 Media Server more for customization.

I can't get my damn PC to find the PS3. Something in the router?

If you're trying to stream music/video files stored on the PC through your PS3 you have to go to the PS3 and go to the music/video icons and scroll down and click on find media server. Like A Casual Fitz said, the easiest way to do this is use PS3 Media Server and click on the folder(s) you want to share with your PS3.
