I really liked Resistance 1's coop multiplayer campaign mode. Is there anything similar available?

Drat: wrong forum. Mods, please move.

Moved from PC Gaming. Silly console gamer.

Wrong forum. With that said, why anyone plays FPS's on consoles, I'll never understand.

I prefer FPS's on the PC, but was surprised to find that FPS's on consoles can be fun too.

Consoles are better if your friend doesn't want to haul his 30 pound rig and monitor over to your house, and you both just want to sit back on the couch in front of the big screen TV.

Split screen anything sucks, and FPS's with a console controller? Um, no.

1. Try it before you knock it. It's certainly not optimal, but it's still fun.

2. If you try it and still don't like it, try to understand that whatever you don't like doesn't necessarily mean that everyone else won't like it too. Different strokes for different folks.

Online or Split Screen? I've never played resistance, so I'm not familiar with it's gameplay. Anyways, my brother and I have played the following cooperatively online:

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 - Awesome coop experience. Best of the games we played so far. The only downside is that only one of you can control the NPC squadmates. You can really use tactics in this game.

Army of 2 - A little different. Getting started, I wasn't enjoying it, but our enjoyment of the game improve significantly in the end. Part of the problem for us may have been playing Vegas 2 and then this. Army of 2 has a very different playing style, much more of a run 'n gun type game, and the tactics used in Vegas 2 don't work so well.

Call of Duty World at War - This was OK, I felt like the co-op didn't add to the gameplay any compared to the other two games. Pretty much the same as any other call-of-duty game

Split screen - I only have 1 PS3! :p I think offline-only would be best. That way, there's no pressure from other players and we can take our time killing stuff. I really prefer a campaign/story mode as opposed to snippets of campaigns (like in Resistance 2 online).

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll have to check them out.

1. I have.

3. ...

4. Profit!

5. (It's fun to mess with people that have a heathen point of view.)

Too bad you missed out on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark because you'd rather be dogmatic than a gamer.
Actually, I've played Golden Eye. Still couldn't stand playing split screen or with a controller. Don't think I've played Perfect Dark though.

Hell, I'm not even fond of playing Mario Kart in split screen.

Split screen does suck and I really enjoyed Goldeneye alot but there is no going back. I don't think I could enjoy playing GE split screen now though.

If you like some plot to your gameplay, I think Vegas 2 and Army of 2 would be the most appropriate from my suggestions. World at War was just miscellaneous missions that you play through.

Also, check out the website www.co-optimus.com which focuses on co-op games and gives a good run-down on what's available for each game. Currently, it looks like Uncharted 2 is the most popular co-op game for PS3.

Modern Warfare 2's spec ops is pretty sweet. You can play that online or split screen and me and a friend usually play it split screen and have a blast. Also as mentioned R6 Vegas 2 was pretty sweet.

Man can people please stop with the PC is better crap??? We hear it every freaking day.

I played Army of Two and I really didn't like it.

Maybe try Mercenaries 2. I've heard both of those are really fun with other people there.

Honestly, I don't thing it'd be possible to enjoy Army of 2 without a human controlling the other player. I just don't see it working very well. Like I said, neither of us really liked the game when we started it, but by the end it grew on us.
