I'm entirely too lazy to go find the post by the sony exec but I believe it's 5 systems total, or maybe 5 extra systems. but you can have your account activated on that many PS3's and access to all the content you have downloaded, as such you can share the games you own with that many friends.

There was a big stink about this when it was first revealed, David Jaffe (God of War guy) was super pissed, but he is always pissed. the big sony exec said it encouraged community or something. It shouldn't be too hard to dig up if someone cares to.

I believe it is officially referred to as Playstation Network Game Sharing.

People's ability to quote others in this thread has completely collapsed, and it now looks like DaveSimmons is claiming to be a pirate. 😀

Sitting back and enjoying this thread some more...

Is that how you do the file share? Where do you get the PS3 media server at? I'd hate to have to pop in a bunch of cd's I have when I might be able to just transfer them AKA file share directly from my pc

I said this on the first page, when I originally posted I was pretty out of it. My son was born last monday and I haven't had a decent night of sleep yet

For music and videos:

1. AFAIK, you can't copy files over a network, but if they are in a PS3-compatible format you can copy them to a USB flash drive or hard drive that is FAT32 formatted (not NTFS) then attach that to the PS3.

2. For streaming files from a PC to the PS3, google "ps3 media server" and you'll find this as the first result:
