We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. I would be shocked if they had a spring release... We're only a few weeks away from spring, and they have yet to even demo any actual games or hardware.

I think it is HIGHLY unlikely for the exact reason you state. If they can't even show of a demo off a game running on actual hardware...there is no way they can get it out before summer in any reasonable quantities. It is nearly March.
I expect running game demos at E3 like MS last year...and a early fall release in a specific region (either Japan or US)...and the release at the second region either right before Christmas or early in the new year.
I still think it's going to be around November 06, in time for holiday season. Blu-ray is definitely a function many people would want, but I wouldn't be surprise if microsoft releases a blu-ray drive for the xbox 360 between now and the end of the year.

MS is already demoing a HD-DVD add-on drive for the 360. It will only play movies, not games. No plans for Blu-Ray but one MS exec (Peter Moore) stated that it would be pretty easy for them to do a Bu-Ray add-on is HD-DVD flops.
