PS3 Cooling

I use my PS3 for movies and after the latest update I swear the fans rev up more than ever. It's really noticeable now. I'm thinking about putting a quiet notebook cooler under it. Think that will help? Any other options?

It is in an open area or is it in an enclosed space like a cabinet? Because my PS3 (60GB) is damn quiet.

I picked up the MGS4 bundle a month ago and the fans are noticeable too. I bought the MGS4 bundle and a 40GB PS3 for my dad as a Blu-Ray player. Comparing the two, the 40GB is much much quieter and cooler than the 80GB.

I think it's just an unfortunate circumstance since the 80GB PS3s use older 90nm tech instead of 60nm with the 40GB PS3s, so they dump out an extra ~60W worth of heat and the fans need to keep up.

Had I known what I know now, I would have purchased the 40GB PS3 instead, backwards compatibility be damned.

Maybe I'll swap PS3s with my dad...

What model PS3 do you have?
