I'm kind of amused how these marketers define FLOPs these days.

I can assure you from a developer POV, that the Cell (peak 200GFLOPs) or Xenon (115 GFLOPs) is nowhere near as fast as a cluster of 40 or 20 Xeon servers. A high end Conroe will handily spank both those in most sustained general FP tasks.

No name-calling. And so what the PS3 has a CPU, GPU, and memory. So does the Xbox (one generation before it), what's so special about that. Besides specialized CPUs get spanked by general purpose processors at general tasks.
