No, it will never happen. Nothing other than Windows has full "official" support for NTFS. It's a very complicated file system, one that Microsoft has never publically documented. Most third party implementations are read-only or have other restrictions.

There's small chance the PlayStation 3 might get exFAT support, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Not with the next generation of consoles on the horizon.

If you want to copy large files to your PlayStation 3, just use the network as the replies in this thread suggest.
