lol...ya, I think BB is a bit more trustworthy than that gadget site who was in business for a month and stole several members credit cards.

just playing with ya...up

Best buy has a big sign out front saying they have ps3 in stock, but no one was buying while I was there.
Off topic, but it looks like the scalpers still have pleanty of PS3's, and can't sell them at cost.

Judging by the fact that I have visited 6 stores over the holidays to see the PS3 in action (at the store's kiosk display), and all 6 of them where broken, I think this deal isn't even room temp.

That's what happens when you put a 3GHz+ chip in a vented box.. then stick it into a sealed plastic case. No problems if you actually let the box get fresh air.

Where can I buy a WII without a bundle? I see a lot of PS3 in stock. I think the gig is up, all the Hardcore people and the EBAYERS already bought their PS3 and the rest of us aren't going to spend $600 on a console.

G4TV reported that shops are having a difficult time getting PS3's off their shelves now...

Might have something to do with the Wii... 🙂

Thanks for the information OP..

The sad reality is that people are truly tapped out and broke after Christmas and the Holidays. After plane tickets, gas, food (family dinners), and other costs, it was difficult for me to my large family even $5 gifts.

I don't know but playing Genji 2 on the PS3 wasn't as next-gen as playing Genji on the PS2 - or even Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 for that matter.

I personally think the Wii phase will end sooner or later. My nephew has it and it's an awesome system. But outside of playing the great multiplayer games with friends, trying to play Call of Duty 3, for example, was a pain in the arse IMO. The PS3 will have a market for players who are more mature and want to play a system that doesn't make you swing around your arm on a single player game. I mean it's great at first but it gets pretty old!

That's my experience. Beat Zelda, played some multiplayer Wii Sports sessions, and I am bored with it. I am planning to sell the Wii, and I picked up a PS3 at Amazon with Amex 25% off wish certificate 😀 There should be plenty of PS2 games to play while I wait for some killer apps. I couldn't find any GC games that interested me besides RE series and Metroid (I already beat M😛rime a few years ago when I had a GC).

Yeah I cannot imagine playing a lengthy single player game using the Wii remote, no matter how intuitive it is. Playing Call of Duty 3 was like playing it on the computer using a Gyro mouse. Innovative at first but gets frustrating. I may hop on the Amazon ps3 60gb using the Sonystyle card ($600-$150=$450 no tax and shipped) but I must admit there really isn't a game out that I want to play on the PS3 yet. They need to pump out MGS4 and FF13 quick!

The Wii lost it's excitement after about 2 days for me. I really do believe that there is a HUGE market for the system (like my sister, she has NEVER been a gamer but thinks it looks like fun), but for anyone above a casual gamer I think the novelty wears off reeeeeeeeeally fast.

Sold mine less than a week after buying it and put the funds towards a 360. Have been loving it ever since (other than the Xbox customer support!)

The Wii and Xbox\PS3 are good complimentary systems. I don't know why people compare the Wii head-to-head with the other two. Two are next-gen, HDTV systems and one is 6 year-old hardware with a revolutionary controller that makes for fun group play.

I didn't compare them at all. I simply said it wasn't for me. The Wii is a completely different experience from the other two, and as I said, there is definitely a place for it in the market. I'm not talking graphics or anything, I'm just talking about what I enjoyed more.

Haven't had a problem with either of mine and Resistance is one of the best online multiplayer shooters ever made....especially considering it is a console release. $600 for built in wireless, Blue Ray, Bluetooth, a ton of USB ports, a browser, 60gb, and so much more. It's an absolute bargain in my book and I was an Xbox fanboy in the previous generation.

My only gripe is my bluetooth headset seems to lose sync with the PS3 whenever I power down and, rarely, while I am playing. I would suggest using a USB headset if you have them until that little bug gets worked out.

Sony executives must be sweating by now....and wondering what else can go wrong with this company.
Remember the laptop batteries and now the PS3...

I agree feature wise it is a very nice price but that fact that it costs $600 is more than most may want to shell out upfront at this time on a console..then do not forget the games are $60(Xbox360 is the same way but at least there are a ton of sales even o nthe newest games)

Why not compare the Wii with other consoles? It's a console system, designed to provide entertainment. To me, the Wii did not provide much after I beat Zelda and some Wii sports. The GC library was lacking with exception of few stellar titles. The PS3 is lacking in library as well, but I got it for $450 for 60GB version so I jumped on it. It doesn't hurt that PS2 library is vastly superior to GC (although there are some compatibility issues on some games). I am not solely judging by hardware specs.

I am neutral, although I have the most fond memories from early Nintendo era.

Super Nintendo = The best console ever made IMHO (and I didn't even own one).
