ps2rate on Win2K?

Hi guys, I'm running 2 mice on Win2K - a MS Intellimouse Optical 1.1A USB and a Logitech FirstMouse 3button PS/2. I have the Intellimouse drivers installed rather than the Logitech Mouseware, since they only allow a single mouse software to be installed. Both work well together, except for the fact that I'm unable to set my ps2rate to 200Hz. First of all, apparently ps2rate doesn't work on Win2K, as they only claim support for Win95/98(SE) and ME. The documentation said that it wasn't required in Win2K. Also, I used to be able to set the mouse rate to 200Hz in my Logitech mouseware, but that's gone now with the new Intellimouse software. I'm only able to set the rate to 100Hz now in Control Panel->Mouse->Hardware->Logitech PS/2->Properties or something like that. That's the maximum I can get. How do I set it higher?

you can change the rate of your PS/2 mouse in Win2K without having to have any other programs. it's under advanced properties or something like that.. thats probably your best bet.. i used to use 100Hz or more all the time before I got a USB mouse..

cheers

*sigh* that's the problem with bumping...nobody reads the initial post. As I've mentioned, I already know of the control panel setting, I'm trying to get beyond 100Hz here. I already mentioned that I'm stuck at 100Hz, now I want 200Hz, is that possible?

There is a w2k version of ps2rate. You have to search pretty hard to find it but I used to use it when running w2k a couple of years ago.

Ok, I had some free time. Get it here!

Thanks for the link Doh! Unfortunately, all the file links in that page appear to be down. The fileserver is no longer in existence I think...*sigh*

Thanks rpower, I actually found that version, a number of sites had it, but it didn't seem to work for me either. After I set it to 200 and tried to apply the changes, it gave me an "invalid handle" error and restarted Windows. I then checked the registry to see if it changed the parameter it said it'd change, but it didn't.
