and it should play Audio cd fine.. i am playing MEtal Gear Solid and its awesome.. the best part in ps2 is that u can play ps1 games🙂 but i think the DVD controls are phewy and cheap.. they should atleat created a nice DVD menu and also that i think Sony should make a Fancy Dvd Remote Control for ps2.

Considering getting one myself just cuz I'm tired of watching DVDs on my PC and none of the EA Sports games work in Win2K. Can someone create a VCD on a CD-R(W) and see if it works? I know they should work on regular DVD players.

Heh, I was at Best Buy on Friday Dec. 29 at they were selling them. I saw some guy with one and said, &quot;HEY! Congratulations!&quot; He said exhaustedly, &quot;Heh, thanks...they have more still...&quot; I'm thinking, 'Thanks for the tip but my Dreamcast is arriving as we speak!' 😉 I'm gonna use my DC till GameCube comes out in October!

BTW, a friend of mine got PS2 the day it came out and he said DVD quality was pretty good- but then again he isn't much of a video quality aficionado. If fact they have no other DVD players in the house except the one on his computer. But hey, it works for him.

How does the PS2 perform when playing PSX games, compared with a PSX playing PSX games? A friend who thinks he knows everything said the PS2 was worse at playing PSX games than the PSX (said this even before the PS2 was out in the US).

it CANT play cdrs or vcd's unless u put a ps2 modchip i think! psx games runs smooth and doesnt freezes at al.. tried metal gear and nfs3 and it ran fine!
