Yes.

The PS2 warranty is only 90 days, and they've had a history of breaking down for no reason. (I had one that did)

No. Get an amex card w/no annual fee and let them handle the warranty extension.

Dosent BB.com have like 2% ebates as well?

Really? I thought it was a year. New or refurbs?

Really.

I fought with Sony over this, as they wanted to charge me $170.00 to fix my 6 month old PS2. I had no extended warranty, and I had to hassle Walmart to take it back under their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" clause.

Most times I will vote against buying an extended warranty as they are usually pure profit for the place you are buying it from. But with a unit like the PS2 that has a track record of breaking down, i'd go for it.

I would cover yourself two different ways.

1) Pay with a premium credit card, not a debit card (although some offer this), not a check and not cash. Most VISA, MasterCard and Amex's offer 1 year extended warranty for free.
2) Buy the 2 year extended warranty for $25.

You did read the part about PS2s dying left and right? My cousins 4 month old PS2 died shortly after Christmas and he was SOL.

Might as well double up on the coverage. :)

Actually I would buy from CostCo B&M because they're offering a PS2 bundle which I believe is cheaper than BB plus CostCo has a VERY liberal return policy. You can return stuff after several years without a sales receipt and get a full refund, or so I heard :D
