All 3 are great. Whoever has the best titles wins.

PS2 has Squaresoft.
Xbox has PC games.
GC has Miyamoto.

Dreamcast. Every emulator on the face of the planet is being ported to it. Quake and Doom have been ported to it. Never before has a console attracted such an extensive and enthusiastic following of amateur developers and eager gamers. The other consoles cannot compete.

Who said the PS2 is out? They seem to sell very well, and have great games and plenty more on the way. I love mine.

Granted, they could have made the specs a little higher, so it could have lasted longer, but coulda/woulda.

The X-Box is going to be a powerful machine, and should be a must buy, as long as Microsoft doesn't drop the ball with incompatibilites. Since they come standard with a hard drive, I hope there will be no bug fixes to download and to install. Sometimes its nice to buy a game and know that it is finished and can played right away, without any headaches or trouble shooting.

I will wait and see before I decide to buy the Xbox. So far it looks great!

Nintendo will be late to the dance in America, but it should do very well in Japan.

XBox will fail because of lack of Japanese support and no one needs another player in the market.

Gamecube will do well with younger kids and hopefully after a while they will branch out to older people.

PS2 will do fine because Joe average thinks it the next logical iteration of the PlayStation. When you see Snoop Dogg on MTV playing the PS2 in his bus, you know that dumb America has embraced it.

Nintendo will beat Microsoft to the "dance" in America. The XBox is nothing more than a PC-in-a-console. Regarrding the PS2, more and more developers are realizing how hard it is to develop for (Sega Saturn all over again), so its a pretty safe bet the GC will win this one.

I have a PS2 and I think i'd rather have an Xbox over a GC - granted the GC's very low likely price and sweet power is extremely attractive - and for me I already have a dvd player in PS2 (but if I didn't have a ps2 the DVD in xbox would be really nice) - but Nintendo just makes too much in the way of kid's games. Xbox will probabaly have a tonne of games for it.

They are all going to survive, though if one would lose, it would be either the Xbox or PS2. Why:

PS2 - has the massive amount of fanboys, and some big name titles. Other than that its technically inferior to both the Gamecube and Xbox, and is a pain in the ass to develop for.

Gamecube - Awesome tech specs, easy to program for, low cost, and has a huge fanbase, though it is mainly kids. But honestly, how isn't wetting their pants thinking about a Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc on a next-gen system?

Xbox - most powerful of the three, has MS behind it, but other than that not much. If MS makes some big game announcements and shows us some truley amazing graphics at E3, their set. They need to convince us at E3 that they are a player, otherwise their done.

I think you will be surprised once both Gamecube and Xbox are released.

Maybe initially they will be close, but give the Xbox developers some time and the difference will be noticeable.

I think when he said the PS2 is out, he meant that it's the only one of the three that has been released.

I bought my PS2 last March in Japan and I'm mildly dissapointed with it. I was expecting a lot more from it, but I am still enjoying my games. I have a feeling that the PS2 will lose the console war. Microsoft has enough muscle to push the XBOX to its marketable limits. The GC will not be recepted warmly in Japan, just like the N64, but it will definately do better then the XBOX over there. All three of them have some bad@ss killer apps, but I still got my money on the XBOX winning this war. Regardless of which will win, all three are amazing machines that have incredible possibilities, and for that reason, Ill have all three lined up on my coffee table in the den ;)

Well we all know that Xbox completely dominates when it comes to hardware--there's no contest. The only way for MS to fvck it up is to make the controllers like the old sidewinder pads where it hurts after you've played SF2 for 5 minutes. In my opinion, the PS/PS2 dual-shock controllers are the best out there now and the Dreamcast controllers are all right (N64 are suck.)

I don't really think initial Japanese support will be vital for the Xbox to survive. People will buy the Xbox just on its virtue of being the coolest thing out there at the time, and once its established after a few months the Japanese are not just gonna sit back and let American developers own the platform. If Jap developers fail to back MS, they just won't bother releasing it in an Asian market until after the US launch, and once the Japs realize how cool it is they will be pissed off. I just hope the Xbox doesn't get any horrible Japanese ports that were rushed through (ZeroWing anyone?!?!!)

MS says: All your console are belong to us!

I really wish that rumor of the Xbox being Dreamcast compatible were true. MS could do it, but they won't because it would hurt their own efforts at winning developers over to their new platform. Maybe bleem! could release a bunch of ported Dreamcast games on DVD for the Xbox...

Well... I think X-box and Game cube will go 1 0n 1. PS2 will be obsolete... I actually agree with aRyll on something... :Q
