PS2 Video Question

The new TV I bought supports 1080i, but I try to set the option to do so in GT4 but the screen shuts off for a bit and doesn't come back on for 15 seconds or so. Do I need component video cable to achieve this?

Of course. You can't output anything but 480i over S-Video or RCA/Composite.

Does this look like it would do the trick?

Yep, thats the cable I used when I had a PS2. Worked fine. Nice that the shipper charges an instant $10 to ship ;x

Yes you do need component video cables to run at 1080i. You actually need component cables even to do 480p; if you're using composite or Svideo right now then you're only getting interlaced video: 480i .
