PS2 price break

Does anyone know of a PS2 price break in the US? Last time I checked, it's going to happen in May. Can anyone confirm this?

I have heard both GameCube and PS2 will announce price cuts at E3... which will happen in a couple of weeks...

No offical word yet. It was mentioned when they announced the greatest hits collection, but a def. time and price was not announced.

I think everyone is expecting an announcement at E3 next month.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say you'll see the drop on shelves around the beginning of June.

What about the XBox? Is Microsoft going to cut prices after Sony? The way I see it, they pretty much have to... but they are already selling XBox at a loss, and not doing so well on this project...

There is speculation that they may, but nothing is solid yet. Also if they find out they will have higher software sales (their real money maker) by lowering prices its worth it to them.

The console itself is awesome, much more powerful than the other consoles....

But there are just not enough good games for it... All it has is Halo... I heard from somewhere Microsoft has recently signed with a couple of big name game developers, so I guess we'll wait and see if there are more good games coming for the XBox...

I absolutely cannot wait for MechAssault to come out... try that beast online... it's gonna be saaaaweet.
