PS2 Owners!

I have a ps2. It collects dust becuase its broken. Just like that last 5, read that again FIVE FVCKING PIECES OF SH!T decided to give me disk read errors. I can't play GT4 🙁.

sucks for you, mine is from the origional run and it still plays everything fine

I think it depends entirely how you treat the hardware.

Well sitting in a well ventinlated area and carefully moving to my friends house maybe once a month is hardly harsh treatment.

If that were true, wouldn't Xboxes and GameCubes have the same problem? Sony makes a lot of junk, and they don't bother to make better stuff because their junk always dies after the warranty is up.

I've been happy with mine for over 3 years now. It's a first gen too I think.

I'd recommend getting a used one. At some places here they run about 80-100 bucks.

you've bought 5 PS2's that all have the DRE error? or did you mod them and screw up the soldering?

never had any probs with my ps2, i traded my old one in with 5 junky games to get the new version and I've been happy with it.

then wouldn't you be able to get an RMA from sony? i've read that they've been sending out replacements for systems with the DRE problem.
