Many considerations. Here's one...
Not using the PS/2 connector would "normally" free
up the IRQ to be used by something else.

I have enough free irq slots so it wouldn't make a difference. I wanna know which one would be better.

USB is Hot swappable and the mouse will have a rate of 125Hz I believe.

Depends on the software. I think default is 40... I know when you install Microsoft mouse software it bumps it up above 100 I believe, at the expensive of a little more CPU power (barely anything when dealing with todays processors). I do not know what the Logitech software does...

If you need your USB slots for other things, I'd go PS2. But if you have the extra opening, I'd go USB.

I'm pretty sure the default is lower than 60... I remember reading an article about it a long time ago how even at 60hz, when you turn in a game like Quake3 on a regualr PS2 mouse, you notice jerkyness because the mouse's refresh is lower than the monitors refresh.
