PS2 or GameCube????

I don't know which one to tell you to get. All I know is, I wish I had one or the other right now, I am BORED!!!!!
 
Im gettin the gamecube! In my eyes...xbox is not even a player in the system wars! The PS2 sat on my shelf for a few months and then was sold....Yeah it has more games, but GOOD games? I think the Gamecube will put out more quality games than any system.
 
I'd get a gamecube. Super Smash Bro's, Rogue Leader, Zelda (even with it's crappy new graphics) is what pretty much why I want it. But then again my bro allready has a PS2 and the only game i've really played on it is Tony Hawk 2 which we used to play on the original playstation anyway...And Tony Hawk 3 is out on gamecube also.
 
The younger you are, the more attractive the PS2 starts to look. If you judge your maturity on if you play games with breasts, blood and guns then go with the PS2, right now.

If not, then it gets to be a bit trickier. What types of games do you like? How about you list of all of your favorite console games now, and we can get an idea of which platform is likely the better choice for you.

On the SuperMonkey Ball cracks, the game rocks. One of the best pure gameplay titles I have played in a long time. If you are under fifteen with a very fragile ego then you might want to skip it, otherwise if you own a Cube I highly reccomend it.

It was announced about 2 months ago that it's going to be MGS2 with a few upgrades like graphic tweaks.
 
Well I know that if all I had to choose from was either a Game Cube or a PS2 I would definately choose a Play Station2, as the titles for the GC look really childish for me (Super Monkey balls, Luigis Mansion, Pikmin...and the list goes on)....

the only game that I would consider getting with a GC right now is Rogue Leader and being that I hate games like that (flying sims type) then that game is eve nout of the question.

PS2 has been out a little longer and is a little older, but has a much better library, there has been time to work most of the bugs out with it, and to me represents a more well rounded solution, with the Game Cube being geared more towards the younger crowd (13 and under).

Now Personally I went with the xbox, but that is because I liked oddworld and DOA3, the upcomming roadmap for games looks decent, and it is a newer console produced by one of the largest companies in the world, so part of me feels that no matter what is said now the system will definately have a future.

Least if MS wants it to.
 
Well like i said, I really am not even considering the Xvox because after looking at it's future game map, NONE looked appealing to me.
The main reason I want PS2 is because I am a HUGE fan of gran turismo and have been dying to actually play through GT3 and well sas gran theft auto 3. The PS2 library also has alot of other games that would be good for renting.


After looking at that GC game map I found alot of titles that I loved for N64 that will be out in the future.





 
I love how everyone says that all the GC games are childish. Obviously they havent tried playing them for any serious amount of time. Not every game has to have blood, guts, and gore, or bouncing breasts and scantily clad women for that matter.

I dont think its a good time to buy either system right now. I'd either wait till the PS2 drops in price, or see what other games are coming out for the GC. Either way you're going to miss out on some great games no matter which one you buy. It just depends on which games you'd rather have I guess. I know I'd like GT3, Final Fantasy X, MGS2, DMC etc. But I also would like to play Zelda, Metriod, Mario Kart, Perfect Dark, etc.

I can confirm that SMB is one of the most fun and addictive games I've played in a long time!

Oh and I've played on consoles since before most people here were born!
 
I'd get playstation for gran turismo 3 alone!! How can you not go with the console that has perhaps the best damn game ever created, and then you add metal gear 2. This isn't even a difficult choice in my book.
 
The main reason I wanted ps2 was because it had gt2 but after reading a review of it and finding out it has 1/3 the amount of cars GT2 had, i was disappointed. I am leaning toward gamecube more now.
 
In all seriousness why not get both? I really can't get into a PS2/Gamecube war.

Got my GC 3 days ago and it's very nice. Now we work on the PS2 😉 jingle bells, jingle bells...
 
Both and the X-box, Atari 2600, Neo-Geo, Sega Master System, NES, VirtualBOY, Gameboy Color, Lynx, Jaguar, PSone, Coleco, One of those pong machines and partridge in a pear tree!
 
You see I would buy both systems with they were both $199, but ps2 is $299. Maybe I will buy gamecube now and buy ps2 when it drops on price....... who the hell knows
