PS2 Ninja Assault w/Guncon2 at KB Toys - $19.99 PM'ed at EB!

Haven't seen this posted here yet, so.....

Went into Electronics Boutique to trade a few games, and while there I remembered a post I had seen on another forum. I asked the clerk to call the KayBee Toys there in the mall and see what Ninja Assault with the Guncon2 bundle cost. It's marked at $49.99 at EB. He called KB for me, and sure enough, it was $19.99. He reluctantly PM'ed it while the other guy ran to the back to save one under the counter for himself.

Great deal for a great package!

The last time I tried PMing at EB, they told me that I had to mail in a PM voucher with the game's UPC and proof of the cheaper advertised price. I'd then have to wait 8-10 weeks for a check refunding the difference to be mailed to me. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere.

I guess they've either changed their PM policy, or YMMV?

Set in feudal Japan, the game pits three heroic ninjas against hundreds of powerful demons in a quest to save Princess Koto from being sacrificed in a ritual to resurrect the evil Shogun Kigai.

Ninjas in feudal japan - so where does the gun come into play? Last time I checked Ninjas didn't use guns.

They do in this game. Semi-automatic muzzle-loading pistols, if I remember right. =)

bchreng:

What that clerk told you is a load. They are SUPPOSED to PM on the spot. Keep after 'em.

wakeboarder:
It is sort of incongruous to see Ninjas packing heat, but so what? It's a hella fun game. I also picked up Dino Stalker, and it's also a good game.

CaptainPete:
Correct you are. And they are rather accurate with said pistols.

Gamestop and eB does that all of the time with the Price Matching. It's up to the salesperson, how he or she is feeling at the time, and wether or not you were nice or rude to them. They have forms to fill out and have to ask their managers for a price overide.

In fact, this policy is entirely true in the world of Price Matching. If you're rude to the sales clerk, chances are high that they will give you the run around - even though the store policy says that the Price Match. Just be nice, and that will increase your chance of getting the price that you want.

If you look like Britney Spears, Carmen Electra, Chritina Agulerra, or one a hot looking chick.... chances are 100% that they will either Price Match It, or buy the item for you outright.

I'm "In real good" with the Funcoland/Gamestop manager, but he's never there. (I sold him and installed his GBA Afterburner internal lighting system), and I talk it up with the other employees frequently. When something good comes up, I'll ask "Do you guys do pricematching?" and their immediate answer is either "No" or "What do you mean?" and THEN "No." Same results at EB: "Can I help you?" "Hi. Yes, thank you. The price of X-game at X-store is $X.XX, do you guys do pricematching?" "No."

The local EB management isn't that good. Back when I reserved my Gamecube bundle, I was supposed to get a card for a free GameNow subscription and a "Game Over: The history of Nintendo" book. But alas, the salesman insisted that I get those when the Gamecube/Games bundle was released (Though bonuses are usually given immediatly to encourage reservals). Sure enough, no only were they NOT available that day, but the second employee told me that I couldn't have one of the copies of "Game Over" from the shelf because they were in inventory, even though he knew his employee had missinformed me! I thought it best not to deal with him so I said "OK, thanks anyway." and left. I called EB corporate, left a message and got a call from the regional manager in Tennessee (I'm in mid/south GA). I received a package next day air (Though I wasn't desperate or anything) 😀

I guess all the "good" managers get promoted into upper management and that's the only way to deal with them.

The $19.99 price at KBToys is not online, it's in-store only. I called 3 KBToys, and they were all selling it for that. I could've just ran down the mall and bought it there, but I thought I'd see if EB would pricematch. Babbage's and EB are very good about pricematching in the mall I go to - maybe it helps that they're pretty close together.

i just got two, so i could get the xtra gun, and will sell the extra gane. this game and guns are awesome. just like the arcade. thanks for the head's up.
