ps2 mod chip?

does anybody know if you need a mod chip to play backed-up ps2 games on the ps2?

I think thats the purpose of the mod chip You also need a game shark 2 from what i heard to enable cd swapping. And you can't copy a ps2 game to my knowledge, but rather have to download the ripped version and peeps on IRC are getting busted for it, so g/l with the piracy

You can copy the cd ones with a cdr and the dvd ones with a dvd-r. No prob.

Of course no one here would ever dream of pirating games when they are readily

Actually that is wrong also. Chip is easiest but it can be done without one also.
