Even though many great games are coming out for the playstation 2 (gateway, etc....) with no built in ethernet, and the least capable system out there, will we see ps3 in 2003 or 4?

Which system do you think was best at E3?

The ethernet adapter will be here in August and it will support almost every ISP out of the box. The harddrive will be here later this year.

Only select (popular) games will be pay to play and even then some might not be. I've talked to my Sony rep about this alot and its what basically convinced me to buy a PS2.

Tekken 4 is coming, Shinobi, Grand Theft Auto Vice, Final Fantasy XI, ect... I think the earliest we'll see PS3 will be in mid to late 2004. Just keep in mind that for every XBox I sell, I usually sell 3 PS2s :)

Each system has great games coming out for it - to ignore that would not be true to a gamers heart..;) Buy those systems you can and play the games for those systems you have now and enjoy those...

*gasp* You kids are lucky - so many fandamntasic games and so little time.... :)

Tekken 4? Meh, infinate corner traps ruin the game. The walls with the Tekken engine was a big mistake. Also they didn't remove ANY of Steve and Jin's 200+ glitches in the home conversion. I'll stick with Virtua Fighter 4 thanks.

GTA:Vice? I'll wait for the PC version.

FFXI? Again, I'll wait for the PC version. (who wants to pay an extra $40 to put PS2 online for games that are going to be on the PC anyway?)

Shinobi? Well I can't say anything bad about that. That's exactly 1 reason to buy PS2 (two if you count VF4).

Well, I don't think the 20+ million of them out there are going anywhere any time soon, so I would say it has quite a good amount of time left.

I've got it! Just find that website that tells you the day you are going to die, and enter in the information for the PS2! That should tell you exactly how long it has left, with no room for error.

PS2 will last until Sony decides to bring out the PS3.

Even after the price drops....the PS2 is still way outselling the competition combined.

My prediction is the PS3 will not be released until broadband is way more common or shortly before that....probably 3-4 years away.

I asume that he works in an electronic stores and calls his "rep" when he needs to reorder.

:Q, he couldnt have been doing his job could he ? You honestly think any company rep is going to try and convince you to buy a competing system ? Come on
