Sony Playstation 2 lowest price I think you can get. (Not sure if they're new or refurbished)

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?cid=15257 for the $20 off $60 page. Enter your email for the coupon (new customers only but I guess you can use a different email ? )
Coupon expires March 8

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=38328 has it for $249.99

So, $249.99 - $20 + $3.95 = $233.94 shipped

OR

PS2/GT3 Bundle http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=38312 for $299.99

$299.99 - $20 + $3.95 = $283.94 Shipped
The GT3 Pack includes these extras:

*NOTE: This GT3 bundle may not include the extra memory card and controller.
Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec Game ($49.99 MSRP)
8MB Memory Card ($39.99 MSRP)
Extra DualShock 2 Controller ($29.99 MSRP)
*Thanks to swNYC for the GT3 Pack info*
*NOTE: This GT3 bundle may not include the extra memory card and controller.

Maybe use ebates? for further 2% and if you have a paypal debit card another 1.5%

Hey thanks for the heads up... just posted it for the ds readers.

They also have a lot of games for $29.99...

I just ordered min. Thanks so much for this deal - I've definetly saved money, and the shipping was under $4 to FLA with $0 tax.

BTW, these are brand new. IMHO, one should not make statements which are purely assumtions. ("refurb products ar OverStock")

Mine ships in two days - I'll let you guys know if its worth it... ;-)

I don't think that anyone here is making "assumptions" here other than perhaps you. Overstock is well known for selling mis-advertised products and 90% of what they do advetise correctly is labeled as "factory reconditioned". These PS2s appear to be new, but given Overstock.com's return policy, I would not order without a verbal confirmation and the name of a CSR.

EDIT - BTW - Never use PayPal as a payment source for Overstock.com purchases as the original poster suggested. Overstock.com's store policy is to give store credit only for returns paid for via PayPal or PayPal debit card:Q

<< Order it using AMEX Blue
return the item to Amex if it's refurbed
>>

AMEX Blue Return Protection does not apply if the merchant already has a return policy unless the merchant refuses to accept a return under their published policy or their return policy has elapsed. It also does not cover any restocking fees charged by a merchant even if you return to AMEX. If also does not cover mis-advertised items. You have to go the charge dispute route for product disputes between the merchant and cardholder.

The model number seems odd and "origin: " states Japan. Judging from the model number, I would say it is a Japanese PS2.

Quote AMEX website:

"Return Protection?Want to return a recent purchase? If the merchant won't give a refund, American Express will. Just call 1-800-297-8019 within 90 days of purchase

Return Protection offers you guaranteed product satisfaction on designated items purchased entirely with an eligible Card. Returns must be within 90 days of purchase. Refunds are for up to $300 per item, with a maximum of $1,000 annually per Cardmember account. For more details or to file a claim, call 1-800-297-8019. Any item purchased from a store that has an established return/satisfaction guarantee program greater than or equal to the terms of Return Protection, and provides coverage for your request for a refund, will not be covered under Return Protection. Cardmembers will be asked to complete a request-for-a-refund form and return it to American Express (with your original store receipt and the American Express® Card record of charge or any other items deemed reasonably necessary to process the request for a refund) within 30 days. Coverage is subject to certain terms, conditions, and exclusions."

I can return the PS2 to AMEX on day 31 of my purchase since my Overstock RMA guarantee would have been expired by then. Also, if they sell me a refurbed item, I am obviously "not satisfied". If I take the charge-dispute route they still have to refund the entire purchase, maybe less the $3.95 shipping charge. Either way I have myself covered.

P.S. the Model Number 711719700005 is actually the UPC code.
I have a SCPH-30001R Version 5 PS2 Console and its UPC code is 711719700104. So it is possible that these PS2 consoles are Version 3s or 4s, which are highly modifiable (you can find such info on your own since its not allowed here.)

Someone with a PS2 check their part number, this place has it listed at the same part number. Shoplet.com in PA, USA

Once again you are wrong. I have used return protection many times. Even if you return to AMEX under their return protection program after Overstock.com's 15 day return policy, you are still bound by their return policy under the AMEX return protection program. In Overtsock's case, this is 15% which AMEX will subtract from your claim amount. They also do not pay shipping to AMEX so you would be out a minimum of the S&H you paid to have the PS2 shipped to you + 15% + S&H to AMEX

Do the math!

That wouldn't be too wise for Overstock to sell Japanese consoles (NTSC/J) in US right? They'll get sued by Sony for doing that. Secondly Overstock has filed to the SEC for an IPO so I don't think they would screw themselves with a lawsuit. Thirdly, it is a UPC number. Japanese merchandise marketed in Japan seldomly carries a UPC code. They use EAN codes which are longer.

Isn't this illegal? It is, after all, just another debit/credit card, isn't it?

GetReal:
(Note to all: this is not a flame war, just an educated discussion so we get our butts covered in an event that the PS2 is a refurb) 🙂

Your case is absolutely true if the PS2 is a brand-new one. What happens if its a refurb? If Overstock (abbreviated as OS) takes it back at full purchase price, no problem. If OS doesn't want it or wants 15% Restocking Fee, then what will AMEX do?
