PS1... Worth the $99?

Alright, I know everyone's just going to say, "Why don't you buy a PS2?" I'm just looking for some cheap entertainment right now that isn't going to cost me all that much money. Can anyone give me a good reason why or why not to blow $99? Thanks.

I think the PS2 might have a price drop in a few months. If I were you, I would wait for the price drop.

<< Get a GBA for $30 cheaper. >>

Thought about that... but I was thinking of putting a LCD screen in my car to play the games on.

If you need cheap gaming. Dreamcast is your best deal for games. Then I'd go with a GBA. Only then would I recommend a PSOne, but only a used PSOne. It's not worth $99 new.

ps1 is good but 99 is way too much for it, can find them for around 50 online. Also have you considered a dreamcast ? Its a great system.

No, not when you can get the Dreamcast for under $50.

And many good games can be had for under $10. (or free if you do that kind of thing.)

<< I'd recommend a N64 over a PS1, but a Dreamcast over both. >>

Funny thing is that I have a N64... Bad part is that my idiot sister lent it out to a friend who moved to Florida. He left it with his friend here in Michigan and I haven't seen it since. I'd really like to finish my game of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

I have a dreamcast and it rocks a PS1 and is even better than a lot of PS2.
If you get a new system get a X-Box.
Dream cast if you want something cheap BUT great.

But the dreamcast is the way to go. I have downloaded about 30 games and burn them to a CD and play just fine. For about $60 I got a used Dreamcast, 2 controllers, a 4 meg memory card, and 30+ games(some of them I have not played more than 5 min's, not enough time )

Oh yeah... I'd go for Dreamcast considering I bought and returned one last year (big mistake), but it doesn't seem like there's as many games.
