I have an oem microsoft natural elite keyboard with only ps/2 connectors. I was hoping to find a cheap ps/2 to usb connector just as i find those usb to ps/2 connectors everywhere. I haven't been able to find a cheap simple converter for one ps/2 device. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

click here

I can recommend this brand. BAFO are quite good. I have used them in many different places, including server rooms with KVM switches connecting to the USB port.

Don't know where is the USA they would be sold because I am in Australia...

The Microsoft Natural Elite keyboards I have here at work all came with a PS2 -> USB adapter. It looks like they're nothing special. You could probably make one yourself if they are hard to find on the market. Just connect the following pins between each connector:

PS/2 -> USB

1 -> 2
3 -> 4
4 -> 1
5 -> 3

And then of course connect the shields.

Here is a quick diagram of the pinouts for each port:

And here is a picture of the adapter itself to show that there isn't much to it.

Hope this helps

Here is another solution. Go to Cyberguys.com and search for part number 131 0870. It's a USB to PS/2 Converter for $9.95.

I think y'all are mis-reading what he wants.

It seems he wants to plug his ps/2-only keyboard into a usb slot. No idea why!

Yeah, most optical mice are naturally usb but come with an adapter to use the ps/2 port.

Different thing.
