I finally managed to place an order for my PS2 deluxe. So with it on its way, what PS2 titles should I be looking for in the used game bins? I already know about the gow and jak series and am not interested in fighting games, so other than that give me your top 10+ list.
 
In addition to the four great titles RaiderJ said....
Persona 3
Atelier Iris (not superb but I liked it)
Disgaea
Metal Gear Solid 1 (if you didn't get it for gamecube),2 (if you didn't get it for xbox) and 3
Resident Evil 4 (if you don't have on Wii, which is the best version IMO, or GC)
Silent Hill 2 and 3
Fatal Frame (!!! one of the scariest games I've played despite only being rated T)
Z.O.E. Second Runner, and maybe the first Z.O.E. also, is a great Mech game.
Armored Core 3
Devil May Cry 3 (a fighting game, but I put it anyway)

 
Some good games already listed. Here are my favorites that aren't yet listed:

Twisted Metal: Black (vehicular combat)
Ratchet & Clank series (very good platformer with heavy shooting elements)
Hot Shots Golf series (I love this series)

And though I haven't yet played it myself, Okami is supposed to be amazing.

 
I wouldn't recommend Jak 2, and I never played Jak 3 because part 2 was bad.

Part 1 is awesome however and is one of my favorite platformer type games ever.

One underrated game too is Sly Cooper.
 
Ah that reminds me, I was going to do a thread and ask about FF. I've never played or really seen any of the games, but it must be ok with like 15 versions of it.
 
I'm pretty new to the PS2 scene, only having purchased mine about a month ago. So far the titles I have played that I enjoy are:

Geez, I bought Dragon Quest VIII when it first came out. Its still shrinkwrapped. 🙁 Paid 50 bucks and now I bet its 20. I need to curb my game spending. I have sooooo many game I havent even p[layed yet!

And if you are going to get/or already have a modded PS2, you can import some games.

ACE 3 looks good. And lots more
 
If you can find it, Haunting Grounds. Game scared the living sh*t out of me when I played it. Not an amazing game, but an amazingly creepy game.
