I've read that cities along a river contribute to the amount of caffeine in the water. The further downstream you go, the more caffeine which was reported to be 9x the strength of what's in coffee at one time. It's not simple to filter out, and our bodies don't "process" it. Someday the whole world will be made of caffeine!
