Proxy or routing?

Right now i'm running a proxy (analogx) in my network. The computer that runs the proxy is a slow, slow computer. It is a p2-233. would it be faster to get a router to give the other computers internet? Analogx has alot of problems for me. It doesn't allow any of the other computers to access a ftp, aol, or anything like that. Would a router cure this problem? Is the 3com router any good? I already put this in the networking forum and nobody responded. Thanks.

Yes, a nice Linksys 4 port Router would do the job you are looking for. You can also pull up information & feedback by using the SEARCH feature. Goodluck.

So i'm assuming from the last post that a router is better than a proxy. Is the 3 com router any good? I only ask because there's a hot deal on it right now.

I personally have not used the 3com router, but I have set up many systems using the Linksys ($99.00). Take the model number of the 3com router and look it up on Google.
