I know nothing about modern LCD and Plasma TVs, so if anyone could help me out on this, I'd appreciate it a lot. Costco will be selling 32" HD LCD TVs from Proview at $899 starting tomorrow.

I was wondering if this is a decent TV or a piece of junk?
Complete specs are here:

Here is a list copied from there:
? Resolution (Max.): 1366 x 768
? Viewing Angle (H/V): 170° x 170°
? Brightness: 550 cd/m2
? Contrast Ratio: 800:1
? Number of Colors: 16.7M
? Response Time: <16ms

? TV Tuner: Single NTSC
? HDTV Input Capable:

Thanks a lot.

I don't know anything about the panel's quality itself, but one thing to be aware of with basically all the cheaper LCD TV's (including this one) is that they still don't unclude an ATSC (HD) tuner for whatever reason...you'd need to buy a separate tuner box to receive HDTV programming over the air (unless you were already planning on getting HD programming over cable or satellite, in which case the set-top box from the provider company would take care of that).

where will it be displayed in your home?... it does have all the digital connects for HD, that's good... at 32" it would be sweet in my bedroom... i have a 42" LCD in my sm-med size living room, and its perfect from approx. 10' away... widescreen at 32" in a small room is ok... large rooms, well it'd be a tad small...

It'll be standing in a medium-sized living room; viewing distance from the TV - maybe 15 feet or less.

just to let you guys know these won't work with universal remotes, unless it's the kind that directly copies the infrared info. you may get a remote to change stations or increase volume, but that's about it

other than that these tv's are great when used in HDTV mode. if you're not using HDTV, however, then don't bother. it won't do these tv's justice
