Basically, conservatives thru history have been people behind the times, unwilling to be enlightened, and who cling to the status quo thru fear or self interest.

Because the gov't forced bad loans on people. Right.

1) For the first 6 years, Neocons controlled the White House, House of Representatives, and the Senate. The last 2 years, they controlled 2 of the 3. So, yes, it was one party control.

2) You mean when Bush proprosed cutting payment to Medicare friendly doctors by 10.6%, and was bitch slapped by congress?

3) Because those loans were made possible when they formerly weren't. By that logic, crack should be made legal. Nobody's holding a gun to user's heads, right? Like cigarettes.

Gee that is unimagineable! Conservatives resist change?!?!?!?!?
I cant believe that! I always thought progressives were resistent to change not what you are describing! I need to get a hold of the dictionary people and wikipedia and anybody who defines conservative as

disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

So basically, you're admitting you lied in that prior post. BTW, which 2 of the 3 did the GOP still control after the 2006 elections?

I thought you said his party controlled congress - can you make up your mind, please?

Actually, crack should be made legal. I don't believe the war on drugs is working.

1. The first 2 years of Bush the house and senate were split. 02-06 they had both houses and a majority. 06-08 they held neither.

2. When did he propose this? And by your admission was denied. So nothing was cut. /shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Crack should be legal but that is a different discussion. His point was the govt didnt put the gun to people's heads and tell them to borrow. And the act that opened up the ability of banks to do what they did was signed by a Democrat president authored by a Republican congress. Both are to blame!

Uh, if my wife and I tell my kid its ok to play in the park since we think he is now responsible enough, but then I see him setting fire to the park, and I do nothing can I just blame the fire equally on my wife because she allowed him to play there like I did?
No.
When the situation started getting out of hand was when the Bushies were in power. Their response was to have Bush push home ownership in every speech, and claim credit for the dangeous loans for the Republican party.

No.

Poor analogy

That couldnt be because the act was signed in 2000 could it? When the fuck else was it going to get out of hand when it was signed months before Bush took office?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

What are you, 18, 20 at the most? Some people here lived through those years. Before Bush came into power, there was a surplus, people generally kept their jobs, and we didn't have a lunatic starting shit all over the world because he had daddy issues. Stop being disengenuous, and man the fuck up, and admit Bush and Co. ran the country into the fucking ground.

What the fuck does the surplus and rest of your idiocy have to do with Gramm-Leach-Bliley act in 1999 that many say helped lead to the mortgage crisis?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I asked techs since this was signed so close to Bush's term when did he expect it to show up? And all you can do it recite talking points?

Who the fuck are you to bash someone for reciting talking points? It's all you ever do. My statement is my personal view of what's happened. I don't follow pundits.

You arguing that GLB act somehow makes this not Bush's administration's fault is absolutely disengenuous, and pathetic. You have no integrity whatsoever, and have no idea what you're talking about, except what that fat slug Limbaugh, and all his wannabe's on Fox tell you. The law was passed, we can do anything we fucking want to take advantage of anyone to get their money, can't we? Fuck 'em, they're peasants anyway. They fucking deserve it! Right?

Jesus, you're an idiot. And a fucking sociopath.

So Nixon ruined America?

Americans ruined America because we increasingly want the government to solve all of our problems, or construct laws that mirror our own personal value system, but we don't want to pay for it and we don't want to compromise on what makes us uncomfortable.

Well, that just makes way too much sense. So much easier to blame it on one guy in the White House.

Yes, a rational discussion of how a political ideology has failed over a couple of hundred years is a troll.
Seems, according to you, that history only began yesterday, and whatever FoxNews claims in their propaganda of the day is the only valid topic for discussion.
Sorry if this thread goes beyond short term thinking.
Seems to me a discussion of history might be important.
I remember something about those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

If you would like, I could post a laundry list of where liberalism has failed also. It would still be a troll post in the context that you and I would have presented it.

Your statement had nothing to do with what I responded to techs. In fact your statement doesnt convey much of anything in regards to the current situation except that life was great in the 1990s. Well no shit sherlock, I think anybody can agree on that. That said Techs was talking things getting out of hand under Bush. Well GLB was passed right before Bush took office. So again I ask when the hell else was it going to get out of hand?!?!?!?!?

As much of a troll as techs is he clearly is outclassed by those two. He should just concede the best he will do for now is 3rd place and move on imo.
