Did you see the videos from the teabaggers in dc? I think you're being diplomatic. A lot are intensely scary and may border on psychosis. Over the last year, the crazies have steadily come out of the woodwork - both the protesters and the defenders of any random cause. I think a lot are just excited to be associating with other humans.
