the site's just getting hammered by pissed off people, which is actually a good thing cuz if there really were any sick fvcks out there that actually wanted to buy this shirt, the lag might prevent them from doing so

Gimme a break, you guys are almost as bad as the terrorists. Why are you taking your rage out on some stupid website. I know self-righteousness feels good, but please...

it is not the site. cafepress.com is just a company that sells space to users that wish to sell their shirts. I've ordered a shirt from another site and it was linked to cafepress. They are not those responsible, but they need to now monitor what is being placed on their sites, since its giving them such a horrid name

danny~!

damnit you idiots, anyone can put a t-shirt up there, do some research first. all the people who made the AYBABTU t-shirts did it here. it's completely auto-mated. you upload the pic and put the text on the back and boom, a t-shirt you can sell.

Emailed Oakland Tribune and Daily Review about it already. Seeing how it's local they may have more of an interest in it.

Yea, picture is gone. I emailed CNN 30 mins ago, and sent email to Hanes too for using their name with such a dispicable idea. Perhaps they will get sued too. And saying they arent reposnible cause the site is automated is BS, they take all responsibility by setting up their site this way with no review, perhaps they will think differently in the future.

<< I submitted the link to the cnn.com and msn.com ... hopefully they can crush this site with some bad publicity. >>

It's not cafepress' fault. Cafepress is a well-known online store that allows you to submit graphics and have your own shirts, mugs, and mousepads made. They don't review the things you submit, you just submit them and name them and they put them online and will sell them for you. Simple as that. I'm sure if someone ordered this, they'd notice it immediately. Don't freak out at Cafepress, freak out at whoever submitted it to them.

I sent this to Neal Boortz, AKA Mouth of the South. He is a conservative talk show host who is on from 0830 to 1300 on WSB AM 750 radio. He also has a web site Boortz.com

Millions hit his web site daily, so this will get out in no time.

<< Hello-

As you have undoubtedly been made aware, someone is selling a highly
inappropriate shirt on your sight making light of the death of thousands
of people in the World Trade Center bombing.

In absolute disgust, I am writing to your company in hope that I will not
have to go to the media with this information. Please do the right thing
and remove the shirt, before I am forced to contact the media with this
information and organize a massive online boycott of your company.

sincerely,
Robert Cole

Good job everyone for protesting!

I just got this email from them:

Thank you for your email to CafePress.com regarding the merchandise
promoting the recent tragedy in NYC and Washington DC.

CafePress.com agrees that the design was in poor taste, and we have removed
it from our service. CafePress.com allows users to design and sell their
own merchandise. As soon as we learned of the offensive merchandise being
sold through our service, we immediately closed the store and removed the
member from our service.

We would like to extend our prayers and thoughts to the victims of the
recent events in NY and Washington D.C. and their families. Many members of
the CafePress.com community have been directly affected by the tragedy - we
even have employees that have losses in their own families.

Briefly:

* CafePress.com does not design the merchandise on our site. We host online
stores and help people sell their own merchandise. It is impossible for us
to monitor everything that gets posted on our service as it gets posted.

* We DO have a high standard for what stays on the site - and remove things
that are not up to that standard. In this case - we removed the store within
minutes of the first person reaching our offices this morning.

* And in true American spirit, we refuse to chase negativity with more
negativity. Thus we've turned the link around into a positive message.
Please feel free to take a look:

Out heart-felt wishes go out to everyone affected. The strength of America,
and of freedom world wide, is in banding together in times of need and
supporting positive growth, healing, and rebuilding. If you feel the new
page helps support a worthy cause, please let others know. And as always -
we at
CafePress.com support our community, and always welcome suggestions. If you
have any positive ideas on how we might be able to help out more, please let
us know.

With Best Wishes,

CafePress.com
