prostitution legal?

they might as well. tax revenues, health checks, and keeping it above ground keeps scum from taking advantage of women or preying on em.

Prostitution should be legal. It's a victimless "crime", and government should NOT be in the business of legislating morality.

I wouldn't stick a broomhandle in one of those Thai whores and expect to get it back without some sort of virulent disease. You guys can go for it. Have fun.:frown:

I agree on this one, although perhaps some regulation is required to prevent spread of STDs, etc. ie mandatory AIDs/STD testing for prostitutes for continued licensure.

and then mandatory screening for patrons. yeah sure.

legalizing prostitution would not increase the number of prostitutes substantially, as they're not really being cracked down upon as it is, and all it will do is good.

Totally useless.

What if the whore is certified STD and AIDS free and the guy she bangs just before you has syphillis and HIV? You lose. For life.

Which is, of course, no different than what goes on now.

That's my point. It may not be foolproof, but it'll be cleaner. Perhaps STD testing weekly, sure it'd be a high cost but so what, maybe that would keep down the number of prostitutes. Either way it can't be completely safe, but a lot of things we pay to do everyday aren't either.

nothings completely safe, but keeping it legit and clean as possible is better then leaving a whole class of women out there to prey on by any crazy psycho. in the past it was seen as ok, the sinner deserved her fate😛

The red light district checks for STDs weekly, and have any of you here heard of condoms?

Not useless....#1 even if the woman had every disease known to man, or the man had every disease, they are not going to let you go bareback (in nevada anyway, I am sure for a price you can negotiate anything though)....

#2 if you are wearing protection you have a highly unlikely chance of catching anything

#3 if you are not wearing protection you still have a fair chance to very good of not catching anything.

STD's are sort of hard to catch for the most part. 'usually' those that have caught them ran the numbers game too long....however there are 1 timers that get nailed with jackpots.

Also just because someone advocates brothels, does not make them a partaker. Prostitution like alcohol have been around forever....it's almost as if it's a craving for many (a lot of men and some women use prostitutes/escorts/extra marital affiars, despites having good sex lives at home)....alcohol was attempted to be banned and it proved people will kill for it. Prostitution is another one of those things, unfortunately it's usually some teen/early 20's woman getting bled out in some back alley for not meeting her pimp's quota (who she was 'volunteered' to work for).

Prostitutes come from rich backgrounds also....at UF a daughter of two doctors was given nothing at all for college, she was not allowed to work while in high school...she was a good student...however without money and only a few hours she could work due to studies (of course she could have studied less perhaps, it wasn't my call) so she first signed on to work a strip club. It was good money, but not totally enough and the hours were longer, plus they wanted her to pay for stuff (I don't know if it was costumes/props, space)....so she started 'dating' local business guys for cash, she met many of them at the strip club and they suggested it.....I can guarantee sex was happening. She'd go on about a date every week or two. She wasn't buying herself stuff other than paying for tutition and the ridiculously priced chemistry and science books we needed that were never used.....(I learned now you can buy them overseas).

You got to figure if you are hungry you will sell whatever you can for food, morality goes out the window. Whoever says it doesn't hasn't been there.
